RAIL LINES

The historical rail lines running between the Vemork Hydropower Station and Såheim were used as antennae to be able to detect and record the electromagnetic frequencies that are currently being emitted throughout Rjukan.

The data and metadata recorded along with the audio was used to generate text using a neural network trained on the history of Rjukan and solarpunk and sci-fi literature. For this location the network created Jean-Paul Sérile, an evolutionary biologist in the year 2050, speaking on the interconnectedness of workers, their labour, and the environment that surrounds them.
