Activist Art School is a relational project of knowledge sharing where artists and activists can enrich each other's practices through dialogue and practical workshops.

“Pussy Riot” is a feminist punk music and art performance group founded in 2011. They stand for feminism and LGBT rights and are in opposition to Vladimir Putin’s regime and the power of the Russian Orthodox Church. The group believes in many democratic values such as freedom of speech, and the right to protest the government as well as freedom of the press. 

Diana Burkot is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, artist, DJ, performer and member of Pussy Riot. She has her professional background from Moscow college of improvised music (class of percussion as instruments. Ensemble and orchestra artist) and Rodchenko School of Contemporary Art, where she studied video and multimedia contemporary art. She is author of the multi-genre art project “Rosemary Loves a Blackberry” which is at the intersection of electronic, academic music and contemporary art. As a member of Pussy Riot, she took part in several performances, including the most famous one in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior “Mother of God virgin, drive Putin away” in 2012.
